This dominant Williams sister holds the open era record for Grand Slam singles titles by a tennis player, male or female. She is surely one of the biggest women’s tennis players. How many more titles she will bag that only time will tell.

Steffi Graf – women’s tennis

This list can never be complete without the name of this woman from Germany. She retired in the year 1999. Steffi Graf has 107 career titles and 22 Grand Slam titles. She was ranked as number one for consecutive 377 weeks. This is also a record which no other woman or man has achieved. In 1988 she became the first player to achieve the calendar year golden slam. That is that year she won all the four major tournaments and she also bagged the gold medal in the Olympics.

Martina Navratilova

This woman from Czechoslovakia was one of the toughest players in the game. Martina retired in 1994. She has won 18 Grand Slam titles and won 167 career titles. Martina holds the open era record for career titles. She has a total of 59 Grand Slam titles which include singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.

Margaret Court – Women’s Tennis

Margaret Court who retired way back in 1977 is surely one of the finest women’s tennis players. She has won 24 grand slam titles. She has 192 career titles. Many experts are of the opinion that she is an all-time great player. She was one of the best players in the 60’s and early 70’s.

Chris Evert

This American player who retired in the year 1989 has won 18 Grand Slam titles. He has won 157 career titles. She is one of the most graceful players of the game. Her career winning percentage in singles matches is more than 90%.

She may have few Grand Slam and career titles but she deserves to be there is this list. She was a victim of the unfortunate on-court stabbing attack by a fan. If this had not happened then she would have surely won many more titles. She would have surely broken many records and created new milestones. She won 9 Grand Slam titles and she has 53 career titles.

Billie Jean King

This awesome women’s tennis player is from the USA. Billie Jean retired in 1983. She has 129 career titles and she has won 12 Grand Slam titles. She was known for her aggressive style.
